Who We Are
Vie for the Kids is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) public charity with a mission to improve pediatric cancer treatment options and outcomes. We support clinical trial programs in Connecticut and provide financial support to pediatric cancer patients and their families.
Our team, supporters and sponsors are committed to ensuring our kids receive the care and treatment they need right here in our own backyard.
Why We Exist
Every day, 43 children and teens in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer.
Childhood cancer is the number one cause of death by disease in children and teens and accounts for more deaths than all other diseases combined. Due to increased participation in clinical trials and advances in treatment over the past 30 years, the number of deaths from cancer in children and teens decreased by more than 50%. However, only 4% of federal funding is solely dedicated to pediatric cancer research and less than 1% for drug development in childhood cancers comes from pharmaceutical companies.
Vie for the Kids
Since 2007, Vie for the Kids has raised over $1 million for pediatric cancer clinical trials and provided financial assistance to families with a child undergoing cancer treatment. All of our team members are volunteers, so your donation goes directly to where it is needed the most - the pediatric clinical trial programs treating kids with cancer.
